nothing says “hope” like a rhinestone t-shirt

Jennifer Aniston* appears in The Hope Catalog, a fundraising effort of the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. According to the catalog, the DKNY-designed shirt “is the ultimate blend of fun and fabulous.”
I somehow feel that the copywriter who penned the product description really had to rein it in a bit to keep from spouting exclamation points all over the place. How can you make people feel good about shopping-mall charity without exclamation points?
The shirts, for those of you who might want the word “hope” emblazoned across your chest in rhinestones, retail for $24 and are available in white with clear rhinestones or black with green rhinestones. For those a little less prone to glitz, other offerings include The Thanks and Giving Collection by Marlo Thomas & Friends.
*Aniston sure doesn’t look optimistic in the catalog shot. Maybe she’s just remembered she left the stove on.

Apparently, we are still hooked on Jennifer. There was a pop culture piece on Aniston’s ongoing hold on the public interest in Salon this week, in case your interested.
