the lion, the witch and the snow globe
Having read C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia some sick amount of times as a child, I was thrilled to learn while buying groceries that Energizer is giving away teeny snow globes promoting the upcoming movie version of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. This is one of those easy giveaways, too — just pick up a package of AA batteries with a tiny snow globe attached.
Granted, it’s the laziest snow globe ever — there is a button on the back to shake the snow for you. How jaded are kids these days that they won’t even shake their own snow globe? In any case, the things are almost as cute as Kindertoys.*
If you’re interested in C.S. Lewis, you should read his books or Through The Shadowlands: The Love Story of C.S. Lewis and Joy Davidman, which is also an excellent film.
*I will never forgive the FDA for ruling American children too stupid to handle Kinder Surprise Eggs — no wonder the United States is lagging on educational standards, there are no Kindertoys to choke the poorly-supervised children to death.
