Apparently, all systems are go for Transformers to become a major motion picture. I’m sure the studio is looking to cash in on the shitstorm of nostalgia floating around right now. Carebears and My Little Ponies* are popping up all over the retail landscape.
Dreamworks head of distribution Jim Tharp had this to say on the matter:
“Under the direction of Michael Bay, and with Steven Spielberg executive producing, we know that `Transformers’ is going to be the kind of explosive action movie that is perfect for the height of the summer movie season.”
I’m pretty sure that translates to, “Utter crap, but with lots of explosions.”
*The My Little Pony site is utterly surreal, particulary when you take the sound into account. It’s the electric guitar that really throws me.
