So, about 5 years ago at the Aurora Picture Show, I had the good fortune of seeing a curated screening of heavy metal-related movies, including the infamous Heavy Metal Parking Lot and the magical clip above, which shows Danzig talking about his book collection. Thanks to Youtube, I can now watch this gem over and over again. What I love about the clip is that (a) Danzig clearly genuinely enjoys reading (b) Danzig reads exactly what one would imagine Danzig to read. I think bits like would be a great way to go about pro-reading campaigns. You know, like “Hey kids, read about some totally rad stuff, like blood thirsty vampire men and werewolves and Nazis and shit.”
