Up Against the Wall
I got to see Ray Wylie Hubbard last night at Shady Grove (for free!), which definitely adds to my aging redneck rocker trading card set. He even sang “Redneck Mother,” which he told us repeatedly that he does not sing every night. Now, either:
(a) He does not sing this song every night, and lucky me, I got to see him sing this song
(b) He does sing this song every night, but has discovered that telling the audience that he does not sing his best-known song every night makes the audience more appreciative of hearing said song.
