Robert Smith and Korn: fulfilling the musical fantasy of thousands of teenagers circa 1996
Korn is one of those bands I just never got. When I was in 8th grade or so, all my friends were really, really into them, but I don’t think I could name a single one of their songs. My clearest Korn-related memory is that in the yearbook room junior year, someone had carved the name of the band into one of the long tables, complete with backwards “r,” but they’d uh…fudged it a bit, spelling out “Kron.” I had a suspicion that was more representative of their listeners than they’d probably like.
All that aside, the clip above (thanks to bart_calendar for pointing me to it), which is Korn with Robert Smith on MTV’s Unplugged is pretty awesome, although I think Robert Smith is going to rue the day his hair starts thinning, if such ever occurs. That texture would be really hard to replicate with a hair piece.
