The Onion AV Club has a short piece titled “Awful Things Zach Braff Is (Probably) Responsible For,” which references the above video.
I’m not really a big fan of Scrubs, but I’m especially not a fan of these types of “No way, dude, we’re totally not gay” jokes. The problem being, of course, that this extreme level of defensiveness makes a soft sell for the notion that same-sex relationships are bad, embarrassing, or peculiar. And, also, even if I were going to endorse such jokes, this one’s just really not that clever. An ironic cover or mash-up seems to be in order.
