I get all “But, I want it” about shit from Fred Flare all the time, but I’ve actually never made the splurge. These sweet new Paul Frank watches are pushing me to the brink, though.
In my defense, I’ve been trolling for a rad calculator watch in a fun color for at least 6 months, and I can’t find one anywhere. Remeber when those babies were standard at the Wal-Mart checkout line? Hot pink, red, and of course, classic black. Now it looks like it’s Casio Databank or Paul Frank only; the Casio will set you back at least 20 bucks, but Mr. Frank’s retro timepiece is a wicked $75.
I’m trying to resist the seduction. I prefer my geekery bargain bin. Anyone finds me a calculator watch in the <$40 range in some sort of festive plastic iteration, I’ll give you a gold star.
