Sex, drugs and college essays

Gawker has a Word document that is allegedly an essay penned by recent Harvard graduate Rivers Cuomo. In the essay, Cuomo mainly waxes poetic about the difficulties of being a celibate rock star.

Regardless of how authentic Gawker claims the thing to be, I really, really hope it’s a well-played hoax. I’m embarrassed for Cuomo just reading the thing:

“Marriage, which once had seemed as undesirably permanent as a tattoo, now seemed to be the one, clear hope for my coming out of my longing … I promised myself to remain celibate until either my wedding day or the end of my vow, whichever came first, and set about trying to find a wife.”

Oh, holy matrimony.
